Unlocking career opportunities for young people, these programmes will inform them about technical education and training pathways to a brighter future.

Springpod, a leading provider of experiential career and education programmes, is proud to announce an innovative new project in partnership with the Department for Education. This exciting partnership will provide students with a unique chance to unlock their potential, make an informed choice about their future education and training, and develop skills ready for work or study.

These new, interactive courses, developed in close collaboration with the Department for Education, provide informative and engaging content covering all the key information young people need to know when exploring technical education routes as an option after school or college. They are available on-demand, and feature interactive graphics, video content, and quizzes that will unlock a certificate upon completion. The courses also feature testimonials from T Level, apprenticeship and Higher Technical Qualification students to give other young people a real insight into the day-to-day experience.

For young people today, decision-making around education and training, career pathways and planning for the future remains highly influenced by online resources. Whilst parents, teachers and careers advisers offer invaluable advice, it’s not always easy for young people to get a sense of what it will actually be like to take a particular route. Online courses, like those hosted by Springpod, provide a very popular resource for teenagers considering their educational pathways.

These short courses have just launched on the Springpod website, and are completely free to access. They aim to equip and empower every young person who accesses them with the knowledge, information and tools to find, apply for and embark on the course that is right for them.

Springpod Co-Founder and CPO Oliver Fisher said of this partnership with the Department for Education:

“Our mission here at Springpod has always been to empower young people to take control of their future, and it’s very exciting for us to work closely with the Department for Education to develop engaging online courses that will help them do this. The educational landscape is changing, so we feel it’s of great importance to open young peoples’ eyes and ears to technical education options, such as T Levels, apprenticeships and Higher Technical Qualifications, because it could help them make life changing decisions and put them on a pathway to a brighter future.”

Educators and careers leaders will also benefit from these unique programmes, with lesson plans and other resources available to support young learners to make decisions about their future pathways. After completing a course, young people should feel confident about technical education as an alternative to tried and tested academic routes, and be able to make a choice that’s right for them.

The Department for Education said of the partnership:

“We are excited to launch this partnership with Springpod – for the first time, we have developed innovative, immersive experiences which enable young people to see what different technical education opportunities are actually like. Through developing this in-depth content together, we have equipped young people with the knowledge and tools to decide whether these alternative routes could be the right choice for them to fulfil their potential and achieve the career they’re hoping for.  We hope this content will help reduce the confusion and choice that overwhelm many young people when deciding what to do after school and college.”

Young people who collaborated with Springpod to provide their experiences of undertaking a T Level, apprenticeship or HTQ found the experience a valuable way to encourage their peers to consider one of these pathways, saying:

“Taking part in this project was really important to me as I had such a great experience during my apprenticeship and I want to encourage young people to learn more about them and apply.”
